Monroe County Launches Countywide Property Reassessment Project

Monroe County, PA-Monroe County has officially partnered with Tyler Technologies to conduct a
comprehensive, countywide prope1iy reassessment. This initiative follows the County’s previous
reassessment implemented in 2020. The multi-year project includes data collection, verification,
assessment of prope1iy values, and opportunities for prope1ty owners to appeal their new
assessments. The reassessment is scheduled to be completed by 2028.

As part of this effort, Monroe County Assessment staff will be conducting in-person data collection
throughout the County. Field assessors will be easily identifiable by their Monroe County-issued
polo shirts and official photo ID badges. Assessors will knock on doors to identify themselves if
someone is home and explain the purpose of their visit. They will measure the exterior of
prope1ties only and will never request to enter a home.

Important Safety Reminder:
If any individual claims to be a field assessor and attempts to enter a residence, residents are
urged to contact local law enforcement immediately. Suspicious activity can also be reported to the
Monroe County Assessment Office at 570-517-3133.

Assessment fieldwork will only take place Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. When an
adult is available, assessors may ask brief questions about the property, such as:
• Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
• Type of heating and cooling systems
• Year the home was built
• Construction materials and physical condition
• Finishing level of attics and basements

Assessors will also take exterior photos of any structures on the property using a smartphone or
camera to support accurate property identification and valuation.

Property owners can expect to receive data mailer postcards with QR codes beginning around November
1, 2025. These cards will provide instructions for reviewing and updating your property’s data
online.

For more information about the reassessment project, please contact the Monroe County
Assessment Office at 570-517-3133.
