On May 20th, the Commonwealth Finance Authority awarded Monroe County projects over $5 Million in grant funding! The Monroe LSA program is funded by a portion of the revenues generated by gaming at Mount Airy Casino Resort. Applications for this round of funding were submitted before September 30, 2025. The program funds economic development, community improvement and public-interest grants. Roughly half of the funding is awarded to Monroe County projects and the remaining half in contiguous county projects. The Commonwealth Finance Authority Board issues funding awards, selecting projects and award amounts. PMEDC is a conduit for a number of area projects seeking funds through the program.
